At the Monaco Yacht Show, Videoworks unveiled an AI system designed to manage energy on an electrically powered superyacht.
The opportunities offered by AI are numerous, such as enhancing onboard comfort while simultaneously reducing energy waste. For example, an AI application calculates the temperature set points for guest cabin air conditioning based on the yacht’s energy reserves. It can also predict energy consumption for the next six hours by considering the number of passengers, location, weather conditions, and the planned route.
Internet-Like Home With the SD-WAN System
With the increasing presence of low-Earth orbit satellites like Starlink or OneWeb and the availability of 5G connectivity, more yacht owners are getting accustomed to enjoying audio and video content on their yachts as seamlessly as they would at home. Satellite TV now enables viewing everything from sports to movies, utilizing the Internet through Smart TVs or specific devices.
However, yacht owners and their guests need the SD-WAN system to make the most of these features—especially with the management of landing IP addresses. It ensures the best experience for streaming their favorite programs from the Internet, regardless of where they are in the world.
