Leapher, as a yacht builder, is relatively new in the industry, although its founders and production team are not. Many have worked for other Dutch yacht builders like Feadship, Heesen, and Oceanco. Additionally, the shipyard, located in the small Dutch town of Tolkamer, was the site of a former cruise and commercial shipbuilder until it ceased operations during the pandemic. Approximately an hour and a half from Amsterdam Airport, near the German border, Leapher boasts exceptional infrastructure. There, the HORIZON is under construction, a 198′ polar-capable explorer (60M).
HORIZON is the only new polar-class expedition yacht currently under construction and available for sale with delivery next year, making this a beautiful opportunity to buy an extraordinary global explorer and start planning the most incredible journey any boater has ever dreamed of. With 1,710 gross tons, it has the volume of at least a 70 to 75-meter yacht or even more (2,153 square feet or 200 square meters).
The dynamics of its design, the distribution of spaces, a huge beach club, and a garage allow clients to carry an almost unlimited supply of toys. The machinery spaces are unlike anything ever seen, with the entire lower deck dedicated to the ship’s operations. The Superyacht has already welded the hull and superstructure and is installing pipes and machinery.
With a capacity for 14 guests in six cabins, the 199-foot vessel features architectural and design elements from some of the best names in the industry, including Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Cor D. Rover, and O7 Designers. The HORIZON can traverse high-latitude regions and provide 40 days of autonomy at sea. It is equipped with all the luxury yacht needs, including an exclusive beach club, a large pool, sauna, gym, diving room, a spacious garage for tenders and water toys, and more. With a maximum speed of 12 knots, it comfortably cruises at 10 knots with a range of 14,000 nautical miles.
It is scheduled for delivery in September 2025, when it plans to make its international debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
