After the releases of the 5X, 9X, and 8X versions, in chronological order of appearance, the Pershing 7X is already with us.
The design, by Fulvio de Simoni, brings us a genuine sport from stem to stern, combining high-tech materials with details of outstanding functionality and elegance. Its aerodynamic lines remind us of the best of the sports thoroughbreds of the automotive industry. The unique receding lines of its hardtop are mainly responsible for that look. The termination of this hardtop in the two uprights with sculptural shapes completes the design, opening the space to the side walkways.
Everything flows in this PERSHING 7X. The tour of its entire exterior creates the feeling of being in the presence of a boat that was designed and developed for high-speed navigation. And it doesn’t disappoint: 50 knots top speed provides the experience of literally flying over water.
This creation of the Ferreti house was conceived to achieve impressive performance for this length. The hull and superstructure are approximately 90 percent carbon fiber, and the interior is primarily constructed of panels with PVC cores and Okoume veneer skins. Only with this compound used for the interior, the manufacturer reduce around 3,300 pounds of weight of the boat compared to conventional structural developments. For the same purpose, the boat is equipped with lithium batteries and not lead batteries, while the doors and exterior openings are surrounded by aluminum.
The power plant of the 7X consists of two MAN V-12 diesel engines of 1,800 HP each that transmit power to the Top System T85 surface drives. The commands allow manual configuration of the surface propellers, ailerons, and motorization. But it comes equipped with the EasySet system that offers a single interface that manages propulsion, electro-hydraulic steering, flaps, maneuvering systems, automation devices, stability, and onboard instrumentation. This technology makes it considerably more manageable for the pilot to steer the boat with absolute precision.
Especially noteworthy is the 7X’s ability to maneuver under any conditions. It is comparable to the versatility of a boat half its length.
Recommended fast cruising speed is 42 knots, which means 2,000 RPM on the engines and approximate fuel consumption of 140 gallons per hour.
The space for pleasure is distributed rationally and efficiently. There are 340 square feet of outside deck space, 75 square feet of the bathing platform, 204 square feet of outside cabin protected by the overhang of the superstructure, and side decks protected by bulwarks that extend into the bow cushions.
Inside, the living room is very bright thanks to almost complete glazing with two sunroofs on top. The front sunroof opens electrically. A one-piece windshield running from starboard to port completes an unrivaled natural light offering.
The interior measures 680 square feet. Beyond the saloon and 135-square-foot wheelhouse, the layout offers a galley on the lower deck, as well as three ensuite staterooms. (The shipyard also offers a twin-stateroom version.) The master stateroom is a 172-square-foot space amidships, while the VIP stateroom is forward, and the third stateroom with twin beds sits between them.
The crew cabin of the 7X has a single bed and is located between the main cabin and the engine compartment.
The great bathing platform has the particularity of overflowing on both sides, like two fins. The cover of the attached garage, located under the aft sundeck, does not interfere with it. At anchor, it is possible to open the home of the Tender Williams 345 without dislodging passengers sunbathing on the aft mattresses.
The circulation between the interior spaces flows naturally, giving way to the various environments onboard that are incredibly welcoming, simple, and refined at the same time.
Inside the 7X, a constant balance between beauty and functionality prevails, where the transition from one room to another is marked in a natural and elegant way. The small details highlight a careful design from start to finish.
Modernism, conceptual clarity, efficiency, and elegance are the keywords to define this Pershing 7X.
