D-Marin has acquired Marina di Olbia, including Marina di Olbia Yacht Service and Molo Brin, on the northeast coast of Sardinia. The two marinas operate in tandem inside the Port of Olbia, and give the group control of one of the main entry points to the western Mediterranean.

The infrastructure is the reason. Olbia offers 270 berths for vessels up to 150 meters, a maximum draft of 5.2 meters, and a 200 meter fuel quay, the largest on Sardinia's north coast, able to serve seven yachts at once. It sits seven minutes from Olbia Costa Smeralda airport and minutes from the ferry terminal.

What the deal actually assembles

Read alongside the group's existing holdings, Olbia is the missing corner. With Camille Rayon on the Côte d'Azur and the Ligurian and Tuscan marinas (Marina degli Aregai, Marina di San Lorenzo, Marina di Varazze, Porto Mirabello and Marina Livorno), D-Marin now covers the three vertices of the route most Mediterranean owners actually sail: France, the Italian coast and Sardinia.

That is the commercial logic, and it is a familiar one from other industries: own the network, not the node. An owner moving between the Costa Smeralda, the Maddalena archipelago, Corsica and the French coast can now stay inside a single operator's berth booking system, digital ecosystem and service standard for the entire season.

Guests in Olbia gain access to the group's platform: the berth management app, Smart Pedestal and sensor technology for real time monitoring, and the Happy Berth Days program, which gives annual berth holders included stays across the D-Marin network.
