Heesen has launched YN 20857, Project Setteesettanta, a 57 meter all aluminum full custom of 920 GT, at its yard in Oss. She now moves to systems commissioning before sea trials in the North Sea later this summer, with delivery scheduled for the end of December 2026.

The market signal comes before the spec sheet. She is the second Heesen commissioned by the same owners, a family that came to know the yard during their first build and returned with a precise idea of the life they wanted at sea. The brief shows in the naval architecture: a shallow draft of just 2.3 meters to reach quiet anchorages, generous outdoor decks, and the volume to linger at anchor for as long as the day allows.

A fleet first, up top

YN 20857 is the first yacht in the Heesen fleet to carry her bridge on the fourth deck, a move that hands the owners an observation deck above the accommodation. The silhouette stays deliberately clean: a light, unobtrusive mast by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, and flat Starlink panels in place of the usual domes.

The owners have reserved the entire upper deck as their private haven, with the master forward under 180 degree views, opening onto a terrace of almost 200 square meters that doubles as a touch and go helipad. Below, a VIP cabin and a full gym sit forward on the main deck, and four further staterooms, two twins and two doubles, take the lower deck. An oval staircase threads all four decks, the aft dining area slides open to the terrace, and a double staircase aft sweeps around a four meter infinity pool down to the swim platform.

What separates this launch from a routine full custom is how little of it was outsourced. From the naval architecture through to the furniture, almost every element was resolved inside Heesen, including the joinery built by the yard's own carpentry shop in Winterswijk and the marble the owners hand selected in Verona.

Cristiano Gatto handled the interior while also representing the owners as their advisor through construction, a dual role that keeps a single vision intact from first sketch to final fit out. Exterior lines are by Omega Architects.

Efficiency over horsepower

The hull was tested at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton, where it proved efficient enough to let Heesen power her with two compact MTU 16V2000M72 engines of 1,440 kW. That yields a top speed of 18 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles at 12 knots. Quantum F45 stabilizers, on an electric and hydraulic hybrid power system, keep her steady at anchor and under way.
