Arksen 55: the Adventure Series Debuts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 with 50 Knots and a Contractual Buy-Back

The first model in the Adventure Series arrives as a digital debut, with hull 1 still in build in Finland and due at the end of 2026. The most commercially interesting thing Arksen brought to Monaco is not the boat.

Arksen has presented the Arksen 55, the first model in its new Adventure Series, at the Monaco Yacht Show. The 17.3 meter aluminum vessel is quoted at 350 nautical miles at 25 to 30 knots, with a 50 knot sprint at light load. Hull 1 is nearing the end of construction and is due at the end of 2026.

The debut is digital. There is no Arksen 55 on the water in Monaco: the stand carries an Arksen 8, models of the new Adventure Series boats and the first Arksen Klepper Kayak, while hull 1 finishes at the yard in Finland. Presenting a model without the boat is ordinary enough in this segment. What is less ordinary is the instrument Arksen has put behind it.

The guarantee is doing the selling

Every First Edition Arksen 55 carries twelve months of Arksen Assured and a guaranteed buy-back value, fixed on the day of order and written into the contract. The yard sets out three exits: hand the keys back, in one appointment, one survey and one payment; trade up, with the value plus a premium becoming the deposit on the next Arksen; or let the guarantee lapse and sell privately. Arksen calls the figure a floor and never a ceiling, and offers it only on the First Editions of each model.

That is aimed squarely at the real objection to a first hull from a young builder, which is not speed or range but what the boat is worth in five years with no secondhand market to reference. Writing the residual into the contract is a way of financing credibility, and Arksen is doing it at the precise moment when nobody can go aboard and check. The First Editions run covers the first few vessels. Other specifications open from 2027.

A workboat program with a salon

The second answer to the same question is the supplier list. The 55 is designed by Jarkko Jämsén and engineered by Arksen with Aivan in Helsinki, and it is built by Kewatec in Kokkola, a yard whose regular customers are defense, civil security and rescue services, with decades of naval and Arctic work behind it. Riskas handles the furnishing carpentry, Fixafell the canvas and upholstery.

The engineering reads the same way. Hull, deck, superstructure and roof are marine-grade aluminum, the hull is a double-stepped deep-V with full-length integrated fenders, construction complies with ISO 12215 and the boat is ISO Category B, with a lightship displacement of 21 t (46,300 lb). Arksen states that the aluminum hull is both repairable and fully recyclable, which is the part of the sustainability claim that can actually be verified at the end of a working life rather than asserted at launch.

"The Monaco Yacht Show provides the ideal stage to showcase the yacht's capabilities"

Circulation moved inside the boat

The layout is the most original idea on board. Conventional vessels push foot traffic to the outer edges; the 55 brings it in, with a full-beam salon, a four door layout and dual side walkways. Someone coming off the aft deck after a swim, or stepping aboard over the bow ramp, reaches the lower accommodations without crossing the raised seating area. The full-beam pilothouse puts navigation and dining together on the main deck, and its seating converts from a U shape to an L shape with an additional galley space. Below deck, a utility area combines galley and workshop, with modular shelving, semi-transparent boxes, a drying cabinet, and the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher kept out of the living space.

Power is outboard first. Four Yamaha F450 XTO are standard, with three Mercury V12 600 outboards or three Volvo D6 440 hp DPI inboards as alternatives, fed by a 3,200 liter (845 US gallon) tank. Accommodation runs from four to eight people, with a forward cabin with private bathroom and an aft section that changes by layout, including a crew cabin option. Owners can add packages for dive equipment, kayaks, research tools or motorcycles, and an onboard crane handles the lifting.

The number worth tracking is not the 50 knots, which is quoted at light load on a boat that has not yet been in the water. It is the end of 2026. A model presented without a boat, and sold on a contractual floor price, has exactly one milestone that settles the argument, and it is hull 1 leaving Finland on schedule.

Figures from Arksen's official announcement and from Arksen's own model and specification pages. Freshwater capacity is not published here, because the announcement gives 280 liters and the specification page gives 60 liters. Pricing is not published here, because Arksen quotes two different figures in two different currencies across its own pages. Berth counts also differ between the two sources; both state that the yacht sleeps four to eight. The announcement does not give the dates of the Monaco Yacht Show.
