Benetti Sells B.Neos 40M Full Hybrid, Named The Soul of Silence, and Quiet Turns Out to Be the Actual Spec
The 40.6 meter, 296 GT B.Neos is due for delivery in spring 2028, sold to a buyer represented by Royal Yacht International. Built around a MAN Smart Hybrid system, it cuts fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30 percent, and the philosophy behind it treats silence as the main luxury, not an afterthought.
Benetti has sold B.Neos The Soul of Silence, a 40.6 meter, 296 GT full hybrid superyacht scheduled for delivery in spring 2028. The buyer is represented by Royal Yacht International, through CEO Manuele Thiella. The name is not incidental: silence is the organizing idea behind the yacht's engineering, architecture and interiors alike.
Superyacht sales are usually announced around size, speed or a designer's signature. Benetti chose to lead with an atmosphere. B.Neos The Soul of Silence is built on what the yard calls evolved simplicity, an approach that treats the absence of noise, exhaust and vibration as the defining feature of a 40 meter yacht, rather than a byproduct of its engineering.
The hybrid system that makes silence possible
The technical case for the name sits in a MAN Smart Hybrid system paired with MAN V8-800 engines, engineered for exceptionally quiet passage making and smart energy management. The setup allows zero emission electric cruising and anchoring, cutting fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30 percent. Silence, in this reading, is not a marketing word. It is what the propulsion system was designed to deliver.
A deck plan built for continuity
Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design drew the exterior, and Francesca Muzio of FM Architettura signed the interiors, both working from the same brief: continuity between spaces and a closer relationship with the water. On the Main Deck, that principle removes structural barriers, letting the layout flow from stern to bow without interruption.
The Upper Deck carries the same logic further. The panoramic master suite includes a private study and its own lobby, and opens onto a forward terrace, a spatial arrangement Benetti positions as delivering volume and liveability rarely found on a yacht under 300 gross tons.
What a 2028 delivery signals
Selling a hybrid flagship two years ahead of delivery is itself a data point. It means Royal Yacht International's client is buying a philosophy and a propulsion architecture before seeing the finished result, evidence that the market for quiet, low emission cruising has moved past early adopters and into standard order books. For Benetti, the contract also extends a pattern already visible elsewhere in the Azimut|Benetti Group this year: efficiency framed as the headline feature, not a technical footnote.
